Hot Pots is a small, local, family owned, contemporary art studio with locations in Alliance & North Canton, Ohio. Our customers enjoy creating fine arts in fun, relaxing & clean studios. We offer pottery painting, glass fusion, mosaics and raw clay work. Other art and craft mediums are offered at workshops. We also offer parties for all occasions,

custom painting, special events and much more.

We work as a team to assist our customers and strive to provide a fun environment for families and friends to create together.

Team members are trained to assist customers in a friendly, efficient manner, work with glazes and design tools, teach techniques, teach customers how to use all of the tools to facilitate with their art, host fun birthday parties & events, glaze pottery, and operate kilns.

Team members are expected to work hard but have fun doing it .

Job Description

Positions at Hot Pots requires greeting customers and teaching them about our product offerings. Employees are here to inspire, guide, teach & clean up after our guests. Other tasks include... lots of cleaning including mopping, taking out trash, cleaning bathrooms, tables, chairs, counters, windows & more. A clean inviting studio is of utmost importance! Employees are also responsible for organizing and maintaining the project tracking system, inventory tracking, merchandising, unloading deliveries, unpacking shipments. An organized, detail oriented person is required for the completion of glazing, firing & finishing of customers pieces. Employess will open & close the studio, ring up receipts, process credit cards, answer phones, schedule parties, track customer creations, assist with events & camps, birthday parties & walk-in customers.

Employees must work both together as a team and independently. Employees will take direction from the owner, manager or supervisor & will complete all assigned tasks in an orderly & timely fashion.

Qualification Requirements

*Candidates must be at least 16 years of age and must be comfortable working alone, opening & closing the studio.

*Must have basic computer skills

*Must be able to communicate clearly with customers, management, & other employees in a friendly, upbeat manner. Candidates must have good writing & spelling skills.

*Must be bubbly, fun, friendly, patient, thorough, punctual, love working with kids.

*Must love to clean & organize.

*Must be comfortable talking to strangers & large groups of adults & children.

*Must be capable of lifting a minimum of 40lbs. and capable of standing/walking for a 5-8 hour shift without difficulty.

*This position does not involve any pottery painting, custom work or any other employee-created art work. There will be no time for homework, painting, reading or any tasks not realted to the work at Hot Pots during working hours and scheduled shifts.

*Candidates must be excellent time managers and multi-taskers. *Employees are required to assist multiple customers while answering phones, cleaning & organizing fragile finished works of art.

Must work well under pressure & in high stress situations. Employees are required to assist with customer issues & problems with a cool, calm & collected manner. Great problem-solving skills are necessary.

*Applicants must present a drug & alcohol free, family-friendly appearance, attitude & reputation at all times.

*Must be able to learn thoroughly all products & options at Hot Pots & be able to assist customers with questions, purchases, reservations & other requests.

*Employees must have a flexible schedule and be willing & available to work evenings & weekends.

*Employees must have reliable transportation to & from work.

*Employees will at all times follow the rules, policies, manuals, owner & manager instructions, written & verbal instructions & will promptly request clarifications should questions arise.
